Into the Closet - Costume Rediscovered
Costume and Textile Exhibition - the Wyre Forest Gallery
Saturday 25th March - Sunday 4th June
This exhibition shows costume from the museum's collections that has never been on display before. From Sunday best and
evening dresses to work wear and accessories, see costume from the olden days. Also on show are many old photographs of costume
in the Wyre Forest area with their modern day equivalents and a chance to compare natural and synthetic fabrics.
Dashing Away With the Smoothing Iron
Special exhibition - the Quayle Gallery
Saturday 25th March - Monday 12th June
This exhibition looks at the arduous task of laundry in days gone by. Handle old and new irons and discover what hard
work washing was before running hot water and washing machines... old mangles, washing machines and washboards will be on
display.
Queen's 80th Birthday
Feature Showcase

Join us to celebrate the Queen's 80th birthday. On display are photos of the Queen's visits to the Wyre Forest area plus
mementoes and memories of the Coronation and Silver and Gold Jubilees.

Crafts Alive!

A return visit by Worcestershire's most talented craftspeople. Watch and admire the skills
of the Worcestershire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, Lacemakers and displays of corn dolly making. The work of
our resident craftspeople will also be on show.

Welcome Weekend
The first weekend of Museums and Galleries Month is Welcome Weekend. At Bewdley Museum, the
Friends of Bewdley Museum will be on hand to guide visitors round the site and answer questions. Our tea shop will also be
open over the weekend.
Making Connections
In connection with Museum and Galleries Month 2006's theme "Making Connections", Bewdley
Museum will present the opportunity to listen to oral history recordings of local residents.
